Welcome to My Virtual Desk
Welcome to my virtual desk! (Good thing this one’s virtual because my actual desk is not nearly so neat!) I approach reminiscence and life story writing with an emphasis on creativity while striving to preserve the essence of your family’s unique legacy. When not at my desk, I’m often at the local library or bookstore reading other memoirs or craft books on writing and editing. I’m always reading, writing, and learning.
For starters, please explore my website!
There you will find a blog, newsletter sign up, testimonials, press, class RSVP, and a way of contacting me!
About The Enduring Elephant
my name is priscilla mccormick, and…
I am the writer behind Enduring Elephant Memoirs. I earned my bachelor’s degree in English and American literature from Brown University with honors in 1991. A recipient of the Minnie Hicks Prize for academic excellence, I was elected to Phi Beta Kappa as a junior and graduated magna cum laude. In the summer of 2008, I participated in the Brown Writers’ Symposium on creative nonfiction.
Under the tutelage of Mary O’Brien Tyrrell in her June 2017 class “Jumpstart Your Memoir Writing Business” at the Cape Cod campus of Bridgewater State University in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, I conceived of the idea for Enduring Elephant Memoirs. Having worked as a nurse’s aide in a nursing home in the past, I have always harbored an affection for elders in addition to a love of writing.
I currently reside on Cape Cod, where I enjoy reading, writing, and learning, with my husband, Wesley McCormick, and our family cat.
